Unique characteristics of sapphire materials
Sapphire is a single crystal form of alumina, which has good chemical, mechanical and optical properties. Sapphire is resistant to strong acid corrosion and can be used in corrosive environment. The surface is scratch resistant and wear-resistant, with a Knoop hardness of 1800 parallel to the optical axis (c axis) and 2200 perpendicular to the optical axis.
